Lennart Meri Tallinn Airport (TLL)
Also known as Ulemiste Airport, Tallinn Airport (TLL) is Estonia's largest airport, with domestic and international flights serving nearly two million passengers annually. It is located on the eastern shore of Lake Ulemiste, just over 3 km / 2 miles from Tallinn city centre and close to Jüri, Lagedi, Lehmja and Loo. The airport is also near to Muuga Harbour (the Port of Tallinn) and underwent major reconstruction in the late 1990s. Its facilities now rival those at airports in Western Europe.
Tallinn Airport has one main terminal building with five terminal gates. Although small, the airport is capable of handling its passenger traffic very efficiently, and its size and well thought-out layout make it very easy to navigate. Tallinn Airport is the home base for Estonian Air, the national carrier, and is also served by a number of other airlines, such as easyJet ad FlyNordic, with direct flights to and from many European cities.
Public buses leave the Arrivals Hall entrance every 20 or 30 minutes, with the journey to central Tallinn taking about ten minutes. Alternatively, taxis are widely available from outside of the airport terminal, operated by Linna and Tulika.
